Amnesia (Flower)

Today was my first experience with a strain by the name Amnesia. Grown and packaged by Alkhemist Daily essentials which is an Indica Indoor flower. For those who don’t know, an Indoor flower is a flower that is grown indoor whether a lab or at home, even though there is a difference in the environmental effect between both. This Amnesia flower consisted of 18.4% THC and 0.148% CBD (refer to my other article around the difference between CBD and THC for beginners) (also refer to types of cannabis and what to look for).
The effect starts off slowly and doesn’t give that initial “HIT” or high as Sativa and Hybrid flowers provide that in a shorter time frame. Indica is known to provide high intellect and focus abilities to be exactly who you need to be at that time, whether you were having a hard day and want to kick back and relax or you have just woken up after an irregular day of sleep just as I did writing this article and would like to get a vast amount of work done.
In General contract to Indica flowers, this strain was potent to a respectful amount based on the THC levels I expected a different outcome, surprisingly it was as potent as most 22% THC Indica flowers. This means that quality control did a great job reducing the amount of THC in the flower and keeping the regular or even sustaining an above-average PharmacoKintecs absorbance level. This is basically the factors that affect the absorbance of the required component into the human body as well as it’s the effect of the body on the component which in our case is THC. But I could tell that easily even before I smoked the actual flower, how? Well, have you ever noticed how Veteran smokers always do the same thing before they buy a new flower they haven’t tried before? Look, Smell, and Touch. These are the basic steps simplified to help you identify what kind of high you should expect from the required flower.
To put this in an example, most flowers in terms of looks have a similar look except for specific strains such as purple Kush, and it is known for that for having a very good amount of purple color in the actual flower, other strains may have specific colors to make them stand out as well but looks were never the solid identification of the high, however, the smell is a different case. The smell of the flower points out the potency to a certain extent. Most of the time, the stronger the smell the more potent the flower is, this may be something impractical to all the flowers but is applied to the majority. Some flowers are even identified by their scent such as orange cream which I have written about in a separate article as well.
Last but not least the touch, why is the touch important? Because you can’t go wrong with touch.
Having a feel on the flower is very important even though most dispensaries will not allow you to touch the flower and that is for a very solid reason too. Flowers can be affected by germs or bacteria that your hand comes in contact with every day, and this could actually ruin the flower. Some dispensaries won’t even let you touch the jars if they use jars in the display.
With this Amnesia strain, it was very sticky, not as sticky as some of the heavier strains I tried before like Ghost OG for example.
Stickiness often reflects on the potency as well, the stickier, the more potent in most cases. Notice how I never mentioned that none of these can identify the type of high to expect yet because this information has to be aligned with the THC and CBD numbers along with the type of flower as well to give you the full picture of what to expect. And that is how you can simply figure out a good quality flower from a less quality flower. Keeping this in mind, it is actually one of the benefits of legalized marijuana in certain states that you can now guarantee a minimum quality standard on your desired products even though taxes apply.
